Arrow Head. A challenge to the last arrow
Developed by the Canadian boys of OddBird, Arrow Head is a bow and arrows battle game with a simple and fast learning gameplay with which you can face up to 4 players both on a network and on a local basis.
Developers recommend using the controller and I join them, controls are not many complex, but using the keyboard I found it quite inconvenient not to mention the loss of fluidity of the movements, which you will see will be very important within Arrow Head.
2 are the game modes, we have a classic Horde mode here called Arcade, where alone or with friends we will face a multitude of enemies that will meet ever stronger and more.
Arena mode instead represents the classic Deathmatch, all against everyone often fast, especially if played 1 vs 1, with very narrow arenas where power ups can heavily influence the game.
A few small fights for the online compartment, on several occasions I found it difficult to access the game server, of course this problem can be solved in the future by the development team.
The graphics are cartoon style, our avatar inside the game will be funny pets like a bizarre penguin, a singular owl, a crow and others, all armed with bow and arrows.
Arrows that with the progress of the game can be replaced with more disparate objects such as road signs or pieces of meat, until you get to unicorns, just to make you understand the level of seriousness.
The soundtrack is nice, goes well with the gaming sessions and stays in the head (not so annoying) as well as the sound effects of the arrows and the off-field sound that accompanies the game.
In my opinion, Arrow Head does a lot more for a local party among friends, it’s easy to explain and to play making it perfectly enjoyable and suitable for any age, just for its graphics and lack of blood.
You can find Arrow Head on Steam from 21 September 2017 and in the future probably on consoles.
